Know your Tea better

What is the shelf life of products?

All Vahdam Teas have a shelf-life of 3 years from the Date of Picking/Harvest. The 'Date of Expiry' are mentioned on the bottom of all our boxes.

Where are your Teas from?

We source our teas from over 150 renowned plantations and small individual farms in India. Within the country, we procure from 5 popular tea-producing regions, namely: Darjeeling, Assam, Nilgiri, Kangra, and Sikkim.

How are the Teas packaged?

After sourcing our teas directly from plantations within hours of harvest, we bring them to our state-of-the-art tea facility in New Delhi, India. The teas then go through rigorous rounds of cleaning, sorting, quality testing to remove any impurities/dust/foreign particles. Post 10+ quality checkpoints for leaf size, aroma, liquor, flavors etc. these are vacuum-packaged in opaque aluminum-lined bags using sophisticated machinery. These vacuum-bags are then stored in a dehumidified, temperature-controlled warehouse which ensures that the teas remain garden-fresh and maintain their character. Further, required quantities are packed in smaller vacuum-sealed packs which are boxed in the retail boxes and then sent over to our own delivery centers located in various parts of the world.

While it is stronger than the darjeeling, and i can taste the more robust brew, i do find it a little flat. It is pleasant, but not invigorating. I would say it would be a good relax at home tea, or as a solid base for some fruit infusion.

I really prefer the flavor of the Blue Mountain Nilgiri Oolong tea to that the High Mountain Darjeeling Oolong tea. It's delightful.

What a lovely cuppa!

Our son & I have discovered that Oolong teas help with our migraines. So far, we had only. tried Twinings & Black Dragon. It was time for me to try my favorite teas - Vahdam teas - & get some better varieties of oolong.
The Nilgiri oolong is the clear winner IMO. I fell in love with Nigiri tea when I ordered a box of teabags online a few years back, just to see what it was like.
Now, I'm in love with Nilgiri oolong.
This tea stands up to a lot. It doesn't matter whether you brew it as directed or, like me, you get distracted & sometimes leave the bag in until it lools almost like a black tea. It's still good. Overbrewed, it still had no bitterness that I could detect, & it makes a lovely iced tea in any strength (our son's favorite way to brew it). I find it calming, perhaps because I always use it to abort a migraine or treat one, & as the pain diminishes, I feel more calm with every step the tea takes to relieve the pain.
It may not work for some folks, & I don't limit my oolong drinking to only when I have headaches. It doesn't have enough caffeine to keep me awake if I'm tired, but it is a great help during any slump in activity where you find your mind drifting & need to get back on track.
I will definitely be ordering more when we run out!
