    Frequently Asked Questions

    Know Your Tea Better.

What is the shelf life of products?

All Vahdam Teas have a shelf-life of 3 years from the Date of Picking/Harvest. The 'Date of Expiry' are mentioned on the bottom of all our boxes.

    Where are your Teas from?

We source our teas from over 150 renowned plantations and small individual farms in India. Within the country, we procure from 5 popular tea-producing regions, namely: Darjeeling, Assam, Nilgiri, Kangra, and Sikkim.

    How are the Teas packaged?

After sourcing our teas directly from plantations within hours of harvest, we bring them to our state-of-the-art tea facility in New Delhi, India. The teas then go through rigorous rounds of cleaning, sorting, quality testing to remove any impurities/dust/foreign particles. Post 10+ quality checkpoints for leaf size, aroma, liquor, flavors etc. these are vacuum-packaged in opaque aluminum-lined bags using sophisticated machinery. These vacuum-bags are then stored in a dehumidified, temperature-controlled warehouse which ensures that the teas remain garden-fresh and maintain their character. Further, required quantities are packed in smaller vacuum-sealed packs which are boxed in the retail boxes and then sent over to our own delivery centers located in various parts of the world.

You can't do it this way!

Guys, I wrote 2 stars review for that tea, because when I bought it second time, it was very different and so much worse than the first time. Now, I don't see my review posted, there are only 5 stars reviews. Apparently, you are blocking my review and manipulate the reviews so your teas will look better than they are. You cannot do it like that, it is too obvious.

    Not the same as before

I purchased this tea few years ago, and I remember it was great. I purchased it again, expecting the same, but nope, not the same. Yeah, smells like fallen leaves a bit, which makes you think it's "autumnal", but otherwise too simple, too dull. Taste of basic Assam, none of aroma, yes astringency, no aftertaste. Brewed it too times, was thinking I missed something first time, but nope, second time was the same thing. Not a great tea. Not for that price.

Rich & Flowery aroma, pairs well with dried figs

I always pause to wonder... what does "Autumn" mean to someone who grew up in Darjeeling in any of the mountain communities along that gorgeous range as compared to what it means for me, as someone who grew up in the north and central American midwest? I tend to think of India as a tropical climate but it's a huge country that has deserts and cold climates too. But what does "autumn" mean when it comes to tea?

I'm actually pleased to say that the aroma of the tea is heavy, slightly flowery, and yes--with a hint of turning leaves that I automatically tend to go to when I think "autumn" or "fall" as it was more colloquially called in the midwest. The flavor is more mild than the Doomni Assam I recently picked up, with zero acidity and just a touch of bitterness at a steep of 95C for 4min. There's also a mild earthiness here that again conjures dried leaves. Zero astringency.

A second steep @4min results in a significantly weaker second cup. Same flavor profile, just diminished. I plan to experiment here, I think 6min will provide a stronger second cup, but I have a feeling a third steep is going to probably be in the 10min category.

As hinted at in the review, dried figs compliment this tea well, so take your time and enjoy this tea with figs. It was a wonderful midday break.

    A nice tasting tea

This 2018 Autumnal Ruby Darjeeling Tea has a lovely smooth taste. A stronger flavour would have been preferred, so will be trying another autumn flush darjeeling tea next time.

    Great tea

Everything as expected, including the wonderful flowery - winey aroma of high end Darjeeling, and pleasant soft palate sensation, lasting aftertaste, etc. This tea is better than some of their higher priced teas
